What to see in Belle-Île-en-Mer
Book your camping holiday in Morbihan near Belle-Île, and enjoy the largest of the Breton islands. Belle-Île-en-Mer is a place of change and adventure in the south of Brittany in the Atlantic Ocean. An island of 6,000 inhabitants, it is divided into several villages located in the four corners of the island, each with its own specificity.
Bangor
The former capital of the island for almost 1,000 years, Bangor has a strong natural and cultural heritage with the remains of its past. Stop off during your holiday to see the churches of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul. And then go to the great lighthouse of Kervilahouen, a little jewel of the Morbihan, offering an incredible panoramic view of the whole island.
To the south-west, let yourself be transported by Les Aiguilles Du Port-Coton and the golden glow of the sun reflected on the turquoise water near the campsite Le Conleau. You will also find the beach of Donnant to the west, where a paradisiacal landscape slips before your eyes between fine sand, greenery and clear water. To continue your visit to Belle-Île-en-Mer, head to Port-Goulphar, a real getaway in southern Brittany.
Le Palais
The marina is the place to be. Along the many quays, treat yourself to local specialities from fishing and agriculture. Discover the Vauban museum which houses several exhibitions relating the history of this important place in southern Brittany. A museum has now been set up in the fort where she lived every summer in honour of the holder of the Legion of Honour.
